Great Midwest Bank has a full time opening for an individual with strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to provide administrative support to our Mortgage Loan Officer in the Madison Office.

This position will help the Loan Officer maximize overall production, efficiency and increase level of client satisfaction by providing the following duties: follow up with borrowers to collect required documents and may act as communication liaison with all parties involved in mortgage transaction; assist Loan Officer in tracking the progress of the loan application to ensure all deadlines, contingencies and closing commitments are met; assist in the input, updating, and finalization of initial applicant information and disclosures via the mortgage processing system; track and monitor progress on all third party documents including appraisals, title, subordinations, flood certifications, verifications of employment, etc.; responsible for scheduling loan closings with all parties involved-may attend and/or be asked to assist in loan closings; provide any assistance necessary to prepare the loan file for closing.

Required Experience

Minimum two years of banking/administrative/customer service experience. Mortgage banking experience and exposure to residential loan origination in a banking environment preferred. Prior experience working in a professional office environment. Proven experience as a self-starter, dependable and accurate in completing work tasks/responsibilities with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Work Hours- 9a-5p Monday – Friday

Seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to help lead our Greenfield Office at 4775 S. 27th Street. This is a recently renovated branch location with a built-in loyal customer base. Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Origination of portfolio and secondary market residential first mortgages & home equity products
  • Networking with Real Estate Professionals and other Referral Sources

Preferred Requirements:

  • Two years of mortgage lending experience
  • Proactive sales skills with existing network of referral sources
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Proven verbal and written skills
  • NMLS Registration

Key functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external customers in the execution of all assigned loan servicing duties within service level standards.
  • Prepare payoff quotes as written requests are received from escrow companies, branches and clients.
  • File recordable loan documents
  • Receive and post incoming payoff checks and insure any overages are returned to the client.
  • Prepare the lien release for real estate secured loans.
  • Assist department with other daily functions.
  • Set up ticklers for financial tracking
  • Performs other reasonable duties, including back up of other loan servicing staff, as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Remain informed of changes in bank policies, procedures, and products

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of bank loan servicing, loan originating, or loan operations experience or a combination of lending and general banking experience required.  Experience in real estate lending processing and documentation is beneficial.
  • Able to deal effectively and tactfully with internal and external clients.
  • Can function well under deadlines
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize workflow, balance multiple priorities and deadlines, and manage a variety of projects in a fast-paced, flexible work environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office application and Fiserv Clear Touch processing system
  • Regular, consistent attendance
  • Ability to use independent judgement and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
