Important information on the COVID-19 Virus Situation


At Great Midwest Bank, the health and well-being of our customers, employees, and communities is a top priority. We are in the business of serving people and in the midst of this Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, it’s important we communicate to you the procedures we are following in all of our offices to minimize risk.

Effective March 24, 2020,  in conjunction with Wisconsin’s mandated “safer at home” announcement, Great Midwest Bank will remain open as an essential business, with limitations on access to our buildings.

For mortgage closings, our Loan Officers will arrange for an in-person closing as “wet” signatures are required. The public is allowed to travel to our office for a mortgage closing as banks are considered essential.  Additionally, appraisers are also considered essential for the real estate industry and will do their best to accommodate given the current restrictions in place.

We have also enhanced our loan closing procedures:

  • If you are sick or have been exposed, please reschedule.
  • Only required signers should attend.
  • We will be prepared for your arrival:
    • Staff will be washing their hands before and after each closing.
    • Closing rooms will be cleaned and disinfected after each closing.
    • Each signer will receive their own pen to take with them.

For deposit needs, our drive thru service is available.  All lobbies EXCEPT our West Allis branch will be closed to foot traffic. Our West Allis office lobby will remain open at this time, (as they have a glass barrier already in place in their teller line). Like the drive thru glass, it will serve as a barrier in face to face contact.

We strongly encourage you to use Great Midwest Bank’s digital tools and other resources for self-service banking and 24/7 account access. You can access your accounts online or by using our mobile app at your convenience. From there you can make payments, view transactions, check balances, find an ATM, and more. If you have not enrolled in online banking access, it only takes a few minutes. You can find the online banking enrollment link on our Great Midwest Bank homepage.

We also recognize that some of our customers will be affected by the business disruption from the outbreak. If you are experiencing a financial hardship, please complete this Mortgage Assistance Application and submit per the instructions included. Our Servicing Department will follow up as soon as possible.
