We partner with local organizations to give back through volunteering, educating, and donating.

Volunteering

We encourage all Great Midwest Bank employees to invest their time in volunteering with local organizations and events. While there are group/team opportunities through Simply Giving, many of us share our time individually. Not only does it help support those in need, it gives us a chance to strengthen our connections and relationships with our customers.

Donating

Great Midwest Bank supports many local organizations and charitable initiatives through donated funds, gifts, supplies, and more. While we don’t publicly announce all of our charitable donations, we’d like to call your attention to our Casual For A Cause program. This employee-led initiative is a shining example of how much we care about the communities we serve. Each month our employees donated out of their own pockets to local organizations of their choosing.

It feels good to be able to give back! We strive every day to carry out our Simply Giving mission because we have always had the amazing support of our communities.

Educating

We always emphasize educating our communities on the topic of good financial health and common-sense mortgage lending, including opportunities with local housing agencies to assist first-time homebuyers. We also partner with organizations such as SHARP Literacy working hard to foster a love for learning through hands-on activities, educational tours, collaborative summer and after-school programs, reading programs and more.

We believe a local bank should invest in its community.

At Great Midwest Bank, our colleagues, customers, and community are critical resources for us as we continue to fulfill our commitment to the communities we serve. Since 1935, Great Midwest Bank has invested in providing a diverse, inclusive and welcoming culture for our employees and customers. We also believe there’s more to be done.

Community Reinvestment

Great Midwest Bank is helping families in low- and moderate-income neighborhoods meet credit needs for becoming homeowners. Great Midwest Bank is also putting a focus on community development loans, investment, and services for the purposes of affordable housing.
