As we celebrate Memorial Day with friends and family, it’s important to remember what the holiday is truly about: those who paid the ultimate price for our country. It’s a day to remember that every day is a bonus and to honor veterans past and present.
The Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is a nonprofit organization that honors local Wisconsin World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, and terminally ill veterans by flying them to Washington, DC. These heroes get to visit their memorials, share their stories, connect with other veterans, and create once-in-a-lifetime memories. They also get to be welcomed home with a celebration that they may not have experienced upon their own homecoming.
The Stars and Stripes Honor Flight is one of the best ways we can show our appreciation and honor local veterans. You can get involved too by sponsoring or referring a veteran, attending a homecoming event, sponsoring a fundraiser, donating, and more!
