Mortgage Loan Closer/Coordinator

Great Midwest Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Closing professional to join the Loan Department in our Brookfield, WI office.

Job Description:

This position effectively coordinates the process, documentation and facilitates closing loans consistent with credit approval and compliance with legal requirements while in accordance with Great Midwest Bank policies and procedures. This individual must present a professional image and provide top-notch service to bank customers, vendors, and Loan Officers by executing excellent customer service procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Mortgage Loan Closer

  • Utilize Ellie Mae Encompass LOS
  • Manage a daily pipeline of Initial Loan estimates, Change of Circumstance Loan estimates, and Closing Disclosures while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Works closely with the Loan Officer, loan processor and Title Company to prepare and disclose the initial Closing Disclosure to the customer to comply with TRID guidelines as well as to ensure the final Closing Disclosure and loan documents are delivered timely and accurately to the closing.
  • Prepares the closing documents according to operational procedures with the highest degree of accuracy.
  • Works independently and as a team.
  • Various other duties such as assigned.

Closing Coordinator

  • Maintain and oversee bank-wide mortgage loan closing pipeline schedule.
  • Audit incoming loans to closing in order to give the green light for closings to occur.
  • Audit mortgage loan files for compliance inaccuracies according to internal, investor, and federal overlays.
  • Review executed closing packages and coordinate funding authorization with title companies.
  • Serve as a conduit between the closing area, Loan Officers, and loan processors to ensure a smooth loan process for the borrower.
  • Strives to improve loan closing operations by displaying a positive attitude. Continually looks for ways to provide the closing area with greater efficiency and workflow consistency.
  • Works effectively under specific time constraints.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years recent Mortgage Loan Closing experience.
  • Preferred prior Managerial and/ or Change Management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to review processes and procedures, makes recommendations and implements changes to improve overall efficiency and workflow processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills. Ellie Mae Encompass loan origination software experience required.
  • Must be organized
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Ability to Multi-Task
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and fluctuating workloads
  • Thorough knowledge of loan processing, closing policies, procedures, documents,underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems.
  • All applicants must be flexible with their schedules, as they may be required to work after-hours, especially during peak volume periods.

Mortgage Loan Processor

Great Midwest Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor to join the Loan Department in our Brookfield, WI office.

Job Description:

This position will be responsible for processing Conventional, Jumbo and FHA/VA Mortgage Loans. Processor is responsible for providing quality customer service by obtaining the necessary documentation for underwriting the loan file, ordering third party documentation, communicating directly with the borrower and/or loan officer in a professional and effective manner to obtain necessary documentation, and provide property disclosures as required by local, state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for gathering, assembling, reviewing and providing loan documentation in a timely manner, from Pre-approval to Loan Closing for all mortgage loans that are consumer driven.
  • Verify the application is complete and accurate.
  • Verifies documentation submitted and identifies any potential issues that may arise in underwriting.
  • Performs a thorough review and analysis of borrower’s credit, employment, income and assets before submitting the file for underwriting.
  • Prepares 1003 and 1008 and ensures the accuracy of all information printed on said documents.
  • Responsible to hand over a completely documented file to the underwriter which is ready for approval or denial.
  • Directly communicates with the Mortgage Lender, customer and underwriter in order to obtain initial and missing documentation required to qualify for the loan, including but not limited to income information, asset information, and credit information. Interact professionally with borrowers, originators and outside organizations to obtain necessary documentation.
  • Prepare proper disclosures/re-disclosures as required by regulations.
  • Various other duties such as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 1-2 years recent processing experience desired. Preferred 5+ years’ experience
  • Dynamic Team Player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills. Ellie Mae Encompass loan origination software experience a plus
  • Must be organized.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Ability to Multi-Task
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and fluctuating workloads
  • Thorough knowledge of loan processing, closing policies, procedures, documents, underwriting requirements, governmental and agency requirements, terminology, and automated processing systems.
